Scope of the survey
Ownership and legal-status entries reflect published bibliographic records and, where noted, aggregator reports as reviewed 24 October 2026. An assignment, an active-status flag or an EPO grant should not be mistaken for confirmed enforceability in every jurisdiction.
This survey brings together eleven published patent records from four patent systems. Seven expressly concern loitering munitions or comparable single-use aircraft; four involve associated unmanned-aircraft, identification, launch, wing or safety technologies. The classifications are research categories, not findings that any particular patent would be infringed by a product.
I. Directly described loitering-munition inventions
The following patents and applications expressly use loitering-munition terminology in their record title or description. The title and identifier lead to the publication page, including its bibliographic information and original drawings.
| Publication | Territory | Listed applicant / assignee | Subject | Record type | Reported status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US11067374B2 ↗ | United States | Overwerx Ltd | Remotely controllable aeronautical ordnance | Granted publication | Active (aggregator) |
| US12344395B2 ↗ | United States | Unmanned X | Multi-role air-launched small UAV and loitering munition | Granted publication | Active (aggregator) |
| EP4632312A1 ↗ | European Patent Office | Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH | Projectile and weapon system | Published application | Pending application |
| CN116972699A ↗ | China | Yangtze River Delta Research Institute of Beijing University of Technology (Jiaxing) | Loitering missile weapon system | Published application | Pending application |
| RU2818171C1 ↗ | Russia | Russian Military Academy of Logistics (original applicant) | Loitering ammunition | Granted publication | Granted; verify current register |
| RU2821739C1 ↗ | Russia | Alexander F. Osipov (original applicant) | Loitering ammunition involving ultraviolet detection | Granted publication | Granted; verify current register |
| RU2857892C1 ↗ | Russia | FlightTech Ltd (original applicant) | Multipurpose single-use loitering aircraft | Granted publication | Granted; verify current register |
II. Associated technology records
These records are related to the broader unmanned-aircraft and munition technology landscape. They should not be treated as patents on a complete loitering-munition system solely because an associated component may be relevant.
| Publication | Territory | Listed applicant / assignee | Subject | Record type | Reported status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US12681474B2 ↗ | United States | AeroVironment, Inc. (secondary indexed) | Machine-to-machine targeting and positive identification | Reported granted publication* | Reported grant; primary record not retrieved |
| US10486830B2 ↗ | United States | UVision Air Ltd | Launcher for unmanned aerial vehicles | Granted publication | Active (aggregator) |
| US10377466B2 ↗ | United States | UVision Air Ltd | Foldable wings for an unmanned aerial vehicle | Granted publication | Active (aggregator) |
| EP3566019B1 ↗ | European Patent Office | Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd | Safety device for a munition | Granted publication | Active (aggregator) |
*The AeroVironment record US12681474B2 was identified through a secondary patent index when the primary patent page was not accessible in this research session; bibliographic and register verification remains necessary before external reliance.
III. How to read the record
Application versus granted patent
An application publication (for example an A1 publication) describes a published application; it should not be represented as an issued patent simply because claims appear in the document. A granted publication reflects the grant event in that jurisdiction. Effective enforceability still depends on the relevant register, validity, fees, claims and other legal conditions.
Patent families and territorial protection
Related filings may share priorities or belong to a patent family. Family relationships must be established record by record, and a grant in the United States or a European patent process does not automatically establish a Philippine monopoly. A Philippine search must independently examine local patents, applications, priority, ownership and claim scope.
What remains outside this survey
This is a defined starting set rather than an exhaustive worldwide search. It does not resolve claim construction, prosecution history, ownership chains, record corrections, validity, licensing, export-control questions or third-party rights. These matters require further jurisdiction-specific evidence before transactional or procurement reliance.
IV. Sources and limits
Each publication number above links to its research record. Status indicators shown by patent aggregators are provisional and should be confirmed against the competent patent office, particularly before assessing an enforceable position. See also the applicable national or regional registers through the links on each record page.
